Frieda’s journey with the Brushing Violets Decorative Painters began in 2003. She taught many of the chapter’s programs and seminars through the years as well as serving on the Holiday Luncheon Auction committee.
She served on the Seminar committee before becoming Seminar Chairperson in 2008. Frieda introduced the first Brushing Violets Painting Retreat to us in 2014 serving as Chairperson, a position she continued to hold through 2020 along with that of Seminar Chairperson.
Frieda’s journey with Brushing Violets ended with her passing on August 7, 2020.
Our loss is heaven’s gain.
With heavy hearts Brushing Violets says good bye to Frieda.
Frieda--artist, teacher, mentor, retreat organizer, seminar chair and so much more. She was always ready to lend a helping hand.
I met Frieda in the early 1980's when we were taking decorative painting classes at 1751 House in Pluckemin, NJ.
In 2003 Frieda became a member of Brushing Violets. We worked on many projects together.
When Mark Polomchak was scheduled, Frieda and I picked Barnegat Lighthouse. I had a friend with a boat who took pictures of the lighthouse. Frieda knew I really wanted to paint that project, but I was unable to attend the seminar. Frieda called the next morning and asked if she could come to visit. She gave me a framed picture of the lighthouse, of course she painted 2 that day. We both cried together.
To the Helmstetter Family we extend our deepest sympathy. Frieda will be missed by so many.
Good bye dear Friend...... until we meet again.
